How'd it even happen?

Yeah, that's him! I sort of blurted out some very personal crap (space stuff) to him back when everyone was oversharing in Jan and he actually really helped me out, and we've been talking a lot ever since. And that weird rom-com house last month threw us in a room together - wow he cleaned up nicely, and was sweet when I got cold, and we snuggled up for a bit, trying to play along to figure out what was happening, but it was nice. Then this morning he asked if I wanted to come for combat training in the simulator and lunch, only the training scenario turned out to be one he made just for us, not a preloaded one, and he made it to help me deal with my crap. It worked, on top of just being fun. Lunch was a picnic in the simulator - I don't usually eat in there but he made his world's Venus, Iris. It was gorgeous. I got too close to him looking at his cape (not on purpose, just didn't want to tear it) and you know how guys sometimes do the hand on your jaw thing when they're about to kiss you? He did that. But I got in there first :)

Haha, day 1's a bit early for keeper status, eh? We're just seeing what happens from here and I don't want to get my hopes up too high in case it doesn't work out.

He doesn't wear a mask... He's a robot. That's why I thought he wouldn't be interested, not that I'm not obviously a catch. He thinks I might be able to melt his brain with my technopathy - I'm pretty sure I can't but maybe it keeps coming up because he's scared I could actually do it. Plus our age gap is more like an age canyon, so I figured he probably saw me as a kid, not an option. (It's also why I was so surprised I was interested. I've only ever seen myself with humans, and in my world that's almost optional. But maybe I never met any aliens at home who were like him.)

I'm not surprised he's scared, but that's the kind of fear you can only eliminate with time and trust. :( Hopefully you'll work through it together.

If we even get that far. This isn't like you and Adachi saying you love each other before the first date, it's really just, hey, we've got chemistry, let's see where it goes. But yeah, it was a nice surprise when he went for the hand on jaw thing. Like, great, I'm not the only one who's thought about this.
